The Athletic claim that Martinelli has made it clear that he wants to stay at Arsenal, which is an enormous boost for the Gunners.
Reports from the Daily Mail earlier this month claimed that Chelsea have been showing a keen interest in signing Martinelli.
We have been here before with Ashley Cole and that was a pretty unsavoury situation for all concerned.
Even Cesc Fabregas – who joined Barcelona between his Arsenal and Chelsea stints – was seen as something of a traitor by Gunners fans.
