‘I’m told’: Arsenal still interested in signing ‘frightening’ attacker, but there’s a problem - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano claims Arsenal are still interested in signing Mykhaylo Mudryk, but there’s a problem – Shakhtar Donetsk have significantly upped their asking price.

The Gunners were on the lookout for wingers over the summer as Mikel Arteta set about bolstering his attacking options.

They got deals for Gabriel Jesus and Marquinhos over the line but missed out on Raphinha to Barcelona.

Arsenal’s interest in Mudryk has been well-documented, with the player even admitting that he ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League just days after the summer window shut.

Arsenal still interested in Mudryk
“We know that they wanted a winger, Raphinha was the dream but then it was not possible to proceed,” Romano said.

“They had very positive contacts on Mudryk’s side but then they decided not to proceed with Shakhtar because they wanted more than 40 to 45 million. Now Shakhtar wants more than 60 to 65 million I’m told.

“So it’s not going to be an easy one. But Arsenal are still following the player. They consider Mudryk a top talent and so Arsenal are still there.

“Let’s see because now the race is open with many clubs involved but Arsenal will be busy in the next weeks and months.”
