However, Arteta's side were put under pressure early on at Elland Road as an energetic Leeds team made the clash as chaotic as possible. The Gunners struggled to maintain a period of dominance against Leeds, who forced a series of unforced errors during the early exchanges.
As a result, Arsenal's early chances were a series of counter-attacks where Leeds were caught with numbers up the field.
