Arsenal already know next two signings for Mikel Arteta's title-challenging machine

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table having acquired 27 points from a possible 30.
Table-toppers Arsenal are expected to re-explore the signings of another wide forward and central midfielder when the January transfer window opens - despite the club's barnstorming start to the 2022/23 campaign. The Gunners were keen on improving their squad in both departments during the summer market but attaining suitable targets at affordable prices eventually proved too difficult before the September 1 deadline.

Collectively, Mikel Arteta and Edu have been keen to overhaul Arsenal's recruitment strategy, ensuring the club are no longer wasting cash on mega-money arrivals that fail to live up to expectations.

Instead, there is a clear focus and emphasis on identifying the right profile of player for the project - something Arsenal have seemingly nailed in the past three transfer windows having made huge strides in the Premier League.

While there are several areas of Arsenal's squad that Arteta and Edu will feel are still in need of improvement - there remains two key areas of specific focus.

The Spaniard is keen to acquire another versatile forward, who can interchange positions across his side's frontline and provide healthy competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
